Instructor Development Course (IDC) Program Structure:

The IDC contains both core and supplemental training content. The core content is the minimum knowledge and skill content required for authorization as an ASHI and or MEDIC First Aid Instructor. Supplemental Content In addition to the core training content required for authorization, the IDC contains supplemental content that may be added by the Instructor Trainer as desired or required. Supplemental training content is clearly identified in this Instructor Training Guide.

Instructor Development Course (IDC) Course Method:

The IDC is a blended course. Blended learning begins with online training to cover the cognitive knowledge of the course, followed by a face-to-face session with an Instructor Trainer for hands-on instructional skill practice and evaluation. This Emergency Care Instructor Training Guide provides information and lesson plans for conducting the face-to-face portion of the IDC.
